Wilmette Public Library to Screen Paul Newman Film Based on Richard Russo Novel

Library offers three viewings of Academy Award-nominated film based on Nobody's Fool

The Wilmette Public Library's 2016 One Book, Everybody Reads season kicks off on April 15 with screenings of a film based on Richard Russo’s 1993 novel, Nobody’s Fool. Screenings will be held at 2:00 p.m and again at 6:45 p.m. in the Library auditorium, 1242 Wilmette Avenue.

The film earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Screenplay and stars Paul Newman in a role that won him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Other cast members include Jessica Tandy, Bruce Willis, Melanie Griffith, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Running time is 110 minutes. An additional screening of the film will be held on April 29 at 6:45 p.m.

One Book, Everybody Reads is the Library’s annual community-wide reading and book discussion program, funded by the Friends of the Wilmette Public Library. Each year, local residents are encouraged to read a selected title and participate in a series of events that explore the book and its themes. The program began in 2006 and takes place each spring. This year's program features Nobody's Fool, published in 1993, as well as the sequel Everybody's Fool, which will be released on May 3.
