Wilmette Reimbursed $99K For Blizzard Clean-Up

Wilmette has been given $99,000 in reimbursement funds from the federal government to "defray the cost" , according to a statement released Friday.

The funds, which are being supplied to the village by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, come after Cook County rendered the blizard a disaster.

"Village crews and contractors worked more than 1,700 hours to remove snow and ice from streets and sidewalks at a total cost of nearly $150,000," the statement reads. ()

The snowstorm, which lasted from Feb. 1 to 3, has been deemed the third worst in the Midwest United States' history.
