Wilmette Theatre's Friday Funnies Comedy Series: Summer Dates

This summer, beat the heat and head inside the 'Mette for an evening of hilarious comedy in an intimate setting. The Wilmette Theatre is pleased to announce the summer schedule for their monthly comedy series, Friday Funnies, hosted by media veteran and author Jenniffer Weigel. All summer long, Weigel will invite different comedic talents from the Chicago area to perform on stage.

“Friday Funnies is a new and different entertainment option in convenient downtown Wilmette,” said Wendy Sharon, Executive Director, Wilmette Theatre. “We started this series back in February as a way to further expand our live programming offerings. Our patrons tell us they love this series and we are super excited about the upcoming comedians that Jenniffer is booking for the summer."

Come laugh with some of Chicago's hottest local comedians. “There is so much talent in the Chicago area, and they are looking for new audiences and performance venues," says Weigel, who has performed comedy at Zanies in both Chicago and Rosemont. “This is the perfect way to introduce these veterans to the North Shore and a unique way to be entertained on a Friday night. “

People are raving about this series...We found nearly every one of the comics to be funny. Since the audience was mixed ages and we were among the oldest, there could have been a very large gap in our senses of humor (so our expectation was low), but we enjoyed our evening and encourage others to attend. It's a nice change from the usual night out. And Wilmette has several restaurants in walking distance from the theater, and the Metra. Go!
