Wilmette Trustees To Vote On 24/7 Veterinary Clinic

Trustees will vote Tuesday night on a proposed 24-hour emergency veterinary business opening up in Wilmette.

WILMETTE, IL — The Wilmette Village Board of Trustees will vote on whether or not to approve the opening of a new 24-hour veterinarian business at Tuesday night's meeting.

MedVet is the largest family of veterinary-owned and operated emergency and specialty hospitals. The Wilmette location would be just under 6,000 square feet and was most recently occupied by Chase Bank at the southeast corner of Skokie Boulevard and Old Glenview Road.

The Zoning Board of Appeals reviewed the request in December and unanimously voted to recommend that the Board of Trustees approve it. If approved by the board, the animal hospital would operate 24-hours a day, seven days a week as an emergency room only.

According to the proposed floor plan, the facility would have four exam rooms, an emergency room/intensive care unit and specialty rooms for X-rays and surgeries.
