2 Incumbents, 2 Newcomers Elected To Wilmette Village Board

Both incumbent trustees running for re-election kept their seats, and Wilmette voters elected four new members to the park district board.

WILMETTE, IL — Two new members were elected Tuesday to the Wilmette Village Board of Trustees, as voters chose between seven candidates contesting three trustee positions. The candidates included multiple lawyers, a former private school director, software and civil engineers and a banker.

Five of the candidates ran for three full terms on the board, including two incumbents, who both retained their seats. Two newcomers competed for an unexpired two-year term on the board.

The top three vote-getters running for the complete, four-year terms were incumbents Senta Plunkett and Daniel Sullivan. Gina Kennedy edged out Joel Feinstein and Ryrie Pelleton for the final seat. Peter Barrow defeated Jeff Axelrod by about 800 votes for the half-term, according to unofficial results.

Wilmette resident Andy Bossov filed an objection to Pellaton's candidacy, claiming that the nonpartisan designation on his nominating petitions violated a state law requires nominating papers to "contain a qualified party designation." Bossov withdrew the objection on Jan. 3, according to the village.
