4th Of July Crackdown Starts In Woodridge: Cops

Police will be out in "full force" to find and arrest impaired drivers.

WOODRIDGE, IL — With Independence Day right around the corner, the Woodridge Police Department has announced that it has already begun it's annual 4th of July crackdown on impaired, distracted, and speeding drivers. Woodridge's crackdown is part of a statewide effort to enforce regulations on "drunk and unbuckled drivers" between June 25 and July 8, according to a press release.

Woodridge Deputy Chief Tom Stefanson stressed the importance of assigning a designated driver and not getting behind the wheel if impaired.

"If you’re going to drink, don’t drive. Too many people die behind the wheel each year because of those who choose to drive impaired by alcohol or other drugs. Our officers will be out in full force, showing zero tolerance for impaired drivers,” Stefanson said in a media release.
