After Complaints, Woodridge PD Reminds Residents To Leash Dogs

Woodridge Police say they've gotten several complaints about dogs without leashes.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge Police say they have gotten "several" complaints from residents about dogs being kept off leash in public places. In a Facebook post, the police department reminded residents that a village ordinance requires dogs to be leashed when they are on public property.

According to police, village code states that the leash be no longer than 8 feet in length. The leash must also be "of sufficient strength to keep such dog under control."

Residents responded to the post saying they see dogs off leash often in the village. One resident recommended posting large signs about the ordinances in public spaces.
