“Buckle up every trip, every time,” Police Chief Tom Stefanson said in a statement. “Seat belts save lives, and we are committed to keeping our roads safe.”

The increased patrols will take place during both daytime and nighttime hours. Woodridge police warn that drivers violating seatbelt laws will be pulled over and ticketed.

The safety campaign is expected to last through May 26.
