Community members are invited to attend "Bartholdi and the Lady Copper" at the Woodridge Public Library on Thursday, July 9 at 7 p.m. Jim Weren, award winning artist and lecturer (Benedictine University Center for Lifelong Learning), will present the story of how French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi conceived of and created the Statue of Liberty. "Often a work of art is so powerful we overlook who the artist was that created it. The Statue of Liberty is an enormous artistic architectural and engineering achievement. Knowing that dramatic story enhances the enjoyment and appreciation of the most American of America’s symbols.” For more information or to register visit woodridgelibrary.org or call 630-487-2577
