Become a Leader with the Woodridge Jaycees
The Woodridge Jaycees offers opportunities for those 21 to 40 to build leadership and volunteer in the community.

Are you between the ages of 21 and 40 and interested in civic engagement? Look to the .
Jaycee members take part in projects such as the Woodridge Jubilee, Haunted Forest Walk and Chili for Children, a food delivery for local seniors, clean-up at the and pancake breakfasts with the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus.
“With the economy constantly changing, so are the volunteer opportunities,” said Debbie White, management vice-president of the Woodridge Jaycees. “People are cutting back and the need for volunteerism has increased.”

The Jaycees have the opportunity to gain leadership skills by way of seminars, including resume writing and public speaking training.
“Leadership training happens automatically by running projects or events for the Jaycees,” White said. “By helping said charity, you are helping yourself become a leader by following an organized plan, budget and following procedures for each project.”

The Woodridge Jaycee chapter was established in 1993.
The Jaycees organization was founded in 1920 by Henry Giessenbier in St. Louis, Mo. His theory was simple – to offer leadership opportunities to young people, giving them hands-on experience through serving the community.
“We provide a structured way to volunteer and provide the man power and support system with which to do it,” White said.
