Boy Scouts of Western Suburbs Get New Executive
Joe Wiltrout was named scout executive for Three Fires Council, which oversees Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will Counties.

The Three Fires Council named Joseph E. Wiltrout as the new scout executive.
The Three Fires Council serves Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will counties. Wiltrout will begin work Nov. 3 at the council headquarters in St. Charles, IL, according to a Three Fires Council news release.
“I’m excited to be joining Three Fires Council,” Wiltrout said in the release. “The Council has a long tradition of providing great Scouting programs. I aim to build on that tradition.”
Wiltrout has a background in management, finance and fundraising, and he has years of professional experience as a Scouter, according to the release. He served as the deputy scout executive/Chief Operating Officer in the Northern Star Council in Minneapolis-St. Paul.
A 12-member volunteer search committee appointed Wiltrout, after a national search was conducted to fill the position.
“Joe’s background as an Eagle Scout and his history working for Boy Scouts of America were impressive,” said search committee co-chairman Keith Miller, in the news release. “When we saw his friendly yet commanding presence in a social environment, we knew Joe was our guy.”
