DGS Music Bowl a Success Despite the Weather!

Downers Grove South High School Marching Mustangs held their 10th Annual Music Bowl this past Saturday, hosting 22 bands.  The passing rains and threats of thunderstorms dampened the field, but not the spirit of the hundreds of talented musicians and color guard members that performed unselfishly.  The preliminary and final show events occurred outdoors, with 10 bands advancing to finals competition.  Congratulations to the top 3 bands in finals competition:  1st:  Plainfield North, 2nd:  Wheaton Warrenville South and 3rd:  Glenbrook South.  DGS also performed exhibition.  The success of the show is attributed to the flexibility and patience of the event coordinators, judges, band directors, participants, parents, spectators and volunteers.  Thank you all!  The Marching Mustangs travel to Indianapolis on Saturday, October 20 to compete in Bands of America Super Regionals.  Good luck to the Marching Mustangs.
