How to Use Video in Your Marketing

You don't have to be a Hollywood movie star or have a Hollywood producer's budget to use video to engage your customers!

Mary's Marketing Minute: How to Use Video in Your Marketing

Today’s tip is about video marketing and why it is so important to integrate into your marketing tools for your local small business.

Did you know the average person on the internet watches 186 videos per MONTH? Did you also know that YouTube is the second largest search engine in the U.S., second only to Google, according to ComScore Inc., a global digital market measurement service? Video Marketing is all about Relationship Building and Social Media, through engaging your customer. You can tweet all day long and talk to your Friends and Fans on Facebook, which is all good, but sooner or later, people want to see and learn about the real you.

When you think about it, it’s much more interesting to watch a quick video than reading a black and white piece of copy. It's also a timesaver, and if done right it can be fun and entertaining.

If you’re camera shy, don’t be! People don’t expect a movie star, they just want to know who you are, and what you can do for them. We live in a transparent community on the internet today, and there is no hiding behind the “internet scenes” anymore.

Authenticity is the key. Just be real, be yourself, so they can get to know the real you. And, here’s the bonus! You will get lots of Google love with video, because your presence will be more populated on the web, and that means more visitors to your site, which means more customers!

Be on the look-out for next time when I show you a fun little video example of how to get your (video) message across on a very small budget!

It's time to warm up that camcorder and get your video game on!
