Leadership

Some may ask why I should be elected Mayor without having first served as Trustee for the Village. My answer is simple: what Woodridge needs is not a just another elected official, but a community leader. On numerous occasions I’ve been asked to help out in some way in the community. In February of 2008 I was asked to lead an important community event, one that would cover almost 2 years and require many meetings and include every part of our community. That event was the 40^th/50th Anniversary Celebration of the Woodridge Park District and the Village of Woodridge.

The leaders of both the Park District and the Village thought I was the ideal person to lead the event. I agreed to accept and, together with Mary Ann Frank, co-chaired what was by all accounts a very successful celebration.

When asking me to consider taking the position of anniversary co-chair, Mayor Murphy said to me, “All of us feel you would be an appropriate person to provide the leadership for this 40^th/50^th celebration. You are someone that is viewed as a leader of leaders, an important person in the business community and the community. You are action oriented, respected and held in high regard by all.”

Leadership comes in different forms and through different channels.  Remember that as you cast your ballot on April 9^th.  Which mayoral candidate will lead us to a more prosperous future?  I believe that candidate is me. Vote Mike Krucek. Thank you for your support.
