Read Ingredient Lists!

The term "organic" is regulated by the FDA. The term "natural" is not and can be misleading.

Buyers beware!

When you see the word "natural" on food packaging, it doesn't necessarily mean the product is healthy, saf, or even from nature. Unlike the word "organic," which is regulated by the FDA, the word "natural" is not and can therefore be misleading.

Rather than buying a product based on the verbiage on the packaging, it's important to always read the list of ingredients. Since the first few ingredients are the main ingredients in the product, it's important that you can recognize what they are. If there are ingredients that you can't pronounce, chances are it doesn't occur in nature. Not all of these are necessarily bad for us, but they may not be doing us much good.
