Chicago Fire Honors 3 DGS Soccer Players
Three Downers Grove South boys soccer players were named to the Chicago Fire's All-State All-Academic Team for 2011.

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club has named three students to its 10th Annual All-State All-Academic Team for 2011.
Cory Mosiman, Joe Sombeck and Andrew Donnelly all received the honor.

According to the Chicago Fire, the students represent a group of talented, intelligent, hard-working and community-oriented young men.
Senior Cory Mosiman was selected as one of 23 players on the first team as a midfielder. Seniors Joseph Sombeck was selected as a defender on the second team and Andrew Donnelly was named an honorable mention member.

“We are proud of Cory, Joe and Andrew for their achievements both on and off the soccer field,” said Jon Stapleton, boys head soccer coach. “Each young man is an accomplished soccer player as well as actively involved in school and community activities.”
The first team was recognized at a banquet Nov. 17. All boys will be recognized at a Chicago Fire match in 2012.
