Cops Issue 44 Tickets During St. Patrick's Day Crackdown In Woodridge

The safety campaign ran March 13 through March 23 with increased patrols throughout the village.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge police issued 44 tickets during a recent traffic safety campaign that coincided with St. Patrick's Day.

The following tickets were issued during the safety initiative, which ran March 13 through March 23.

  • 14 speeding tickets
  • 14 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations
  • Six seatbelt tickets
  • Six tickets for driving without insurance
  • Four tickets for distracted driving

“We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason—to save lives,” Woodridge Police Chief Tom Stefanson said in a statement.

He added, "Whether it’s alcohol, cannabis or another drug, impaired driving puts everyone at risk.”
