Crafting for a Cause Club is Sharing the Warmth with Cancer Patients This Holiday Season

Woodridge Park District Active Adult Club Crocheted and Donated Hats

The Woodridge Park District’s Golden Years newly formed “Crafting for a Cause” club presented knitted and crocheted hats to Mayor Gina Cunningham on November 24. The handcrafted hats, created by club members, will be distributed to patients undergoing cancer treatment at the University of Chicago Cancer Center at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.

All are welcome to join the weekly drop-in Craft Club where participants bring their needle-related project and supplies and the club provides the conversation and useful crafting tips. All levels of crafters are welcome, and the club is a great way to socialize and learn from each other. “Crafting for a Cause” club meets weekly on Tuesdays from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Woodridge Park District Community, 2600 Center Drive, Woodridge, IL. For more information, call the Woodridge Park District at (630) 353-3300 or visit the Woodridge Park District Active Adults program and services web page at www.woodridgeparks.org/programs_active_adults.htm.
