'The Curse of Downers Grove' Premiere Date Announced

“The Curse of Downers Grove,” a film adaptation of the 1999 novel “Downers Grove” by Michael Hornburg, has been given an Aug. 21, 2015 release date for select theaters.

The Blu-ray and DVD release for the film is set for Sept. 1, according to Bloodline, a Hollywood and media news website.

The movie stars Bella Heathcote as Chrissie Swanson, a Downers Grove High School senior who believes she’ll be the next fatal victim of a curse that brings a gruesome death to one teen each school year.

Lucas Till, Penelope Mitchell, Tom Arnold and Kevin Zegers also star in the film, which is directed by Derick Martini from a script co-written by Martini and Bret Easton Ellis, author of the novel “American Psycho.”
