District 58 Schools Closed Jan. 7

All schools in Downers Grove Grade School District 58 will be closed Jan. 7 for the safety of the students and staff, according to a district alert.

Transportation in these falling temperatures and wind chill could be hazardous.

The district will not decide whether to hold school Jan. 8 until later Wednesday, depending on forecasts for Thursday, the district stated. Email and phone messages will alert parents and employees if school should be canceled for Thursday.

Parents and the general public may also check the status of school closings the following ways, according to the district:

1) Go to the DG58 website

2) Go to the public emergency closing website to search for facilities by typing the name and city or by the main phone number of the facility.

3) Listen to WGN Radio 720-AM, WBBM Radio 780-AM or watch CBS Ch. 2, NBC Ch. 5, ABC Ch. 7, FOX 32, WGN-TV Ch. 9 or CLTV cable for closing information.
