Downers Grove Celebrates Memorial Day
The annual Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:45 a.m. May 25 at Burlington Avenue and Main Street.
Alexander Bradley Burns American Legion Post No. 80 will host Memorial Day ceremonies May 25.
The day will begin at 8 a.m. with a memorial service at the post, 4000 Saratoga Ave.
From 8:30 to 9:45 a.m., the post’s honor guard will visit six area cemeteries to salute fallen veterans.

The annual Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:45 a.m. at Burlington Avenue and Main Street. The parade will travel south on Main to Grove Street ending at Fishel Park. The Memorial Day Ceremony will begin in the park at 11:00 a.m.
May 25 is also a holiday for the village’s garbage hauler, Republic Services. Collection will be one day later during this week and includes Saturday pickup for those whose regular collection day is Friday.
