Downers Grove Family Displaced by Wednesday Morning House Fire
No one was injured, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A Downers Grove family was displaced from their home Wednesday morning after a fire in an attached garage spread into their two-story house in the 3700 block of Downers Drive.
The Downers Grove Fire Department was called at 2:32 a.m., and firefighters found thick smoke and heavy flames in the garage, according to a news release.
The residents had evacuated before firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.

Smoke was also coming from the front door, and firefighters found the fire and the smoke had spread through most of the house, with heavy fire in the garage and in the hallway leading to the garage.
The fire was extinguished at 3:03 a.m., and crews stayed at the home to help the homeowners, the fire department reported.

The fire damaged the structure of the home, and the family can’t move back in for now. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
Downers Grove police and Code Enforcement Departments, the Lisle-Woodridge, Westmont, Lemont, Lombard, Oak Brook, Oak Brook Terrace and York Center Fire departments helped with the fire.
