Downers Grove South Girls Cross Country Defeats Willowbrook
Downers Grove South won the varsity, junior varsity and sophomore meets over Willowbrook High School Monday.

The girls cross country team defeated Willowbrook 20-43 at O’Brien Park Monday, according to Head Coach Doug Plunkett.
Willowbrook's Molly Krawczykowski won the 3-mile race with a time of 18:55. South then placed the next seven runners:
- Junior Katie Strelau with a time of 19:03
- Freshman Amanda Thate, 19:07
- Senior Jacquelyn Thate, 19:07
- Junior Amy Rotunno, 19:29
- Junior Jordyn Baylark-Rasul, 19:32
- Senior Rebecca Stearns, 19:42
- Senior Maddie Cahill, 19:43.
The win over Willowbrook extends the DGS dual meet winning streak to 73 meets over the past 12 years.

South also won the JV and sophomore races by identical 15-50 scores. They were led by senior Cara Wicklein who was first in the JV race (19:56) and sophomore Erin Gentile who was first in the sophomore race (20:12).
The Mustangs host the 39th annual Kevin Keogh Mustang Run Invitational on Saturday at O’Brien Park. Races begin at 9 a.m.
