The Woodridge Public Library has the works of Riah Biradar, mixed media, on display. The exhibit is available for viewing during normal Library hours.
Riah Biradar is a self-taught artist. She describes her work, as follow: “My work is comprised of contemporary abstracts and portraits in mixed media - each completely different in style and handling. The dry pastels are used to give rise to a mystic feel around the subject, the acrylics and inks are employed to present a certain characteristic, and the application of pencil colors and spray paints bring out the simplicity of the subject. In addition, my artwork embodies a unique feature in the use of authentic Swarovski crystals to deliver the stunning effect of jeweled paintings which adds another dimension to the art. The use of these media is an attempt to best showcase the various feminine moods and emotions.”
