Find Your Joy! National Library Week @ Woodridge Public Library

It's National Library Week! To celebrate, we're spreading the word and inviting everyone to find their joy at their local public library.

It’s National Library Week! To celebrate, we’re spreading the word and inviting everyone to find their joy at their local public library.

What does a Year of Joy look like at the Woodridge Public Library (WPL), home to the Youth Librarian of the Year for Illinois, Jessica Smith, and a whole team of joyful library staff?

Patrons made 185,078 visits to the Woodridge Public Library over the past year to enjoy fantastic programs and events such as the Not-so-Scary Haunted House, Tween Takeover, and an Elvis Tribute Concert. The Summer Reading Dogman Party, Noon Year’s Eve Family Glow Party, and Mother’s Day Alice in Wonderland Tea Party were a great time. 600 hundred free storytimes and special events are held throughout the year for all ages, including WPL’s new Community Helper Storytime & Play series, where kids can pretend to be chefs, veterinarians, and other helpers like the Lisle/Woodridge firefighters who read stories to children in September during Firefighters to the Rescue!
