Gator Spotted in Summerhill Park was a Fake
The alligator spotted by a jogger on Wednesday was not a real alligator but one made of synthetic material.
The gator who caught Woodridge's attention last week was not real but a fake, according to Woodridge police.

Police searched the area and alerted residents through Reverse 911. The was alerted to the gater spotting on Friday and conducted its own search that afternoon.

Neither police nor the park district could find the critter, which officials guessed had already moved on from the area.
The fake alligator was spotted by a resident Sunday, who bravely appraoched the faux-gator, put it in a box and brought it to police.
