Grand Opening of Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Downers Grove Begins Thursday
The grand opening will offer $2 sandwiches and barbecue giveaways.

The new Dickey’s Barbecue in Downers Grove will host a three-day grand opening this week under the direction of owners Kote Nallapati, Chandrasekhar Valeti and Anesh Pillai.
The new restaurant in Downers Grove is located at 1332 West 75th Street. According to a news release, the grand opening will include:

- Thursday, Jan. 22, the first 50 dine-in guests receive gift cards worth up to $50.
- Friday, Jan. 23, Dickey’s Barbecue will have merchandise giveaways all day
- Saturday, Jan. 24, from noon to 2 p.m., radio station 94.7 WLS-FM be at the restaurant, and one winner will be chosen for a $500 gift card and three winners will receive free barbecue for a year. Also, guests can get a deal with $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches.
“Authentic barbecue is hard to find here in Illinois and people deserve to know what slow-smoked barbecue tastes like,” Nallapati said in the news release. “When we researched franchises, we read about Dickey’s Barbecue Pit and knew it would be a great addition to the area.”
The three owners, Nallapati, Valeti and Pillai, are friends and software engineers who live in Naperville, according to the news release.

There are two other Dickey’s locations in the area, one in Glenview and one in Wheaton.
