'Honoring Our Heroes' Exhibition Opens Nov. 1 at Downers Grove's Museum Campus

Veterans and families are invited to an 'Evening for Veterans' on Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the Museum Campus.

The new “Honoring Our Heroes” exhibition will include photos, uniforms, artifacts and memorabilia from several military conflicts, such as the Civil War, WWI, WWII and Vietnam, according to Downers Grove Parks.

The exhibition will be open Nov. 1 to 30 in the Museum Annex building at the Downers Grove Museum Campus. Regular opening hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The village will also host an “Evening for Veterans” on Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the museum. All veterans and families are invited to attend and view the exhibit. Honor Flight volunteers will be providing information, according to Downers Grove Parks.

“Honor Flight is a not-for-profit organization that provides trips to Washington D.C. to visit national memorials free of charge to veterans,” according to the event page.
