Increased Demand Leads To More Hours At West Suburban Pantry
Increased demand has recently led to crowding and longer wait times at the Woodridge-based food pantry.

WOODRIDGE, IL — West Suburban Community Pantry is expanding its hours to keep up with an increased demand that has led to crowding in the pantry and lengthier wait times for patrons.
Full shopping will now be available as follows:
- Mondays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 pm.
- Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Formerly, Monday shoppers were limited to picking up eggs, milk, produce and bread. Due to this previous limitation, close to 100 customers were coming to get their full shopping done on Tuesdays.

"We don’t want people waiting in bad weather or hot cars to check in and begin shopping,” Paul Matsushima, Director of Pantry Operations, said in a news release. “Adding full service on Mondays and opening all day on Thursdays should help alleviate that.”
West Suburban Community Pantry has also added new pickup times for customers who do their shopping via the Virtual Food Pantry. The new pickup times for these customers are as follows:
