Woodridge Library celebrates National Craft Month with hands-on projects and educational sessions for crafters of all experience levels.

WOODRIDGE, IL — March is National Craft Month and Woodridge Public Library is celebrating with weekly crafting events for novice knitters, arts enthusiasts, and craft-curious alike. Everyone is welcome to attend the informative events and hands-on crafting lessons and sessions.

On March 8, the library kicks off National Craft Month by taking a deep dive into the world of knitting and shares tips on how to browse Pinterest for inspiration for your next project. Then, on March 13, you can take the next step learn all about using Ravelry.com to find knitting patterns, master new techniques, and connect with other knitters.

Once you've learned the basics of knitting, bring your project to the Library Needlers Meeting on March 19. Long-time crocheters and knitters will be there to give you pointers and show off their own work.

Residents can learn how to make their own vintage spool necklace on March 22. at 6:30 p.m. The library will provide wooden spools, thread, beads, and helpful instruction for beginners.

The library wraps up National Craft Month on March 29 at 6:30 p.m. with a "Bad Craft Party." The aim of this event is simply to embrace the pure enjoyment of crafting something original without worrying about the outcome.
