WOODRIDGE, IL — A stray puppy who was found in Woodridge just over a month ago has a brand new home and recently returned to the police department to thank the officer that cared for him. The puppy was first found on Dec. 29 and drummed up a lot of attention after Woodridge police posted a Facebook update looking for his owner.

The pup's owner was never found, but he was eventually adopted by a loving family who named him Bógdan, which translates to "gift from God" in Polish.

Bógdan and his new owner came back to the Woodridge Police Department and Bógdan got to visit with Community Service Officer Madalyn Anderson, who bonded with the pup when he was first found.

In a statement, CSO Anderson said, "When I first saw this puppy, I immediately noticed the cuteness and fun personality. He was a bit of a Houdini too, having somehow gotten out of a cage on the way to the DuPage County Animal Services building.”

Woodridge Police Department Deputy Chief Tom Stefanson said, "We're thrilled to close the loop that this story has a happy ending."
