WOODRIDGE, IL — A makeup date has been announced for the Woodridge and Downers Grove July 4 fireworks show. The original fireworks display had been canceled in the wake of the Fourth of July parade shooting in Highland Park, will be held Oct. 2.

Officials announced the new date Friday afternoon via Facebook, adding that "[t]he late date is due to scheduling availability."

The fireworks show kick off near the intersection of 75th Street and Lemont Road around 7:15 p.m. Spectators are welcome to park in the surrounding lots to enjoy the display.
