'Mars & Stars' At Woodridge Library: Upcoming Virtual Programs

Virtual programs are free and open to teens and adults who register through the library's Event Calendar.

Celebrating the fabulous sights visible in the night sky throughout July and in recognition of the upcoming NASA launch on July 30, the Woodridge Public Library is hosting two Virtual Events in the coming weeks. Virtual programs are free and open to teens and adults who register through the library’s Event Calendar.

NASA Solar Ambassador Philip Green presents Explorers Wanted: Mission to Mars on July 14 at 7 p.m. Ambassador Green will take us on a virtual tour of the Planet Mars, as we visit the robotic rovers that have explored the planet’s surface, learn about the exciting new technology launching on Perseverance, the new rover for 2020, and look to the future of intrepid human explorers landing on Mars for the very first time. Perseverance is launching from Florida on July 30.

Rick Gering from the Naperville Astronomical Association (NAA) presents The Best Stargazing Sights You Can Discover From Your Back Yard This Summer on Thursday, July 16 at 7 p.m. Celestial targets that can be seen with the unaided eye, binoculars and telescopes, from our suburban skies will be highlighted.
