Memorial Day Parade and Service
The VFW invites ALL VETERANS, regardless of branch of service, age, or duty, to join and march along. The parade will be silent and solemn.

Woodridge VFW Post 1578, along with the Lisle/Woodridge Fire Department, will sponsor the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29th, beginning at 9:00 am. The VFW invites ALL VETERANS, regardless of branch of service, age, or duty, to join and march along.
The parade will line up at Fire Station 2 (75th Street and Woodridge Drive) at 8:30 am and will proceed north on Woodridge Drive, then east on Center Drive to Memorial Park. The parade will be silent and solemn. The District 68 Marching Band Drumline will provide a cadence. Many Color Guards will be present. The VFW will then have a Memorial Day Service. The public is invited to attend.
May is an especially important month for Americans. From showing our appreciation for America’s military, to raising awareness on mental health, we also dedicate two days to honoring and remembering the service and sacrifice of our service members: Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day.
This Memorial Day we stand united as a nation under old glory ... the faces of our fallen embedded in our symbol of red, white, and blue ... and we are reminded of the true cost of our freedom.
Memorial Day, while a sacred day for us, is sadly overlooked by many Americans who have lost touch with the true meaning of this ever-important day. Together, we can change that.
As you go about your Memorial Day events later this month, we encourage each of you to explain the true meaning of the day. While we’ll never be able to repay those who gave all in defense of our nation, educating our fellow Americans offers us a great opportunity to honor them.
