Mistress Plots Murder-For-Hire To Kill Rival In Woodridge: Cops
Police say the woman used $10,000 in Bitcoin to contract a "dark web" company to murder her lover's wife.

WOODRIGE, IL — A Des Plaines woman is in custody after allegedly paying an online service $10,000 in a foiled plot to murder a Woodridge woman who was married to her lover. Tina Jones, 31, of the 700 block of River Rd., Des Plaines, turned herself in to police Tuesday and has been charged with one felony count of solicitation of murder for hire.
Police say they received a tip on April 12 that a Woodridge woman was targeted as part of a contracted murder that Jones allegedly arranged through a so-called “dark-web” company. Jones is accused of paying the company $10,000 via Bitcoin to set up the planned murder.
An investigation led Woodridge Police to Jones, who is currently being held at DuPage County Jail on $250,000 bond. If Jones posts bond, she will be forced to surrender her passport and avoid contact with the victim and her family, police say.
