Pair Charged With Possession Of Stolen Car In Woodridge: Cops

Police charged a Wheaton man and a Bolingbrook man in the incident.

WHEATON, IL -- A Wheaton man and a Bolingbrook man were arrested on charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle in an incident that started with Woodridge police being called to investigate a reported retail theft at Target. Phillip Jackson, 54, of the 700 block of Liberty Drive, Keith Lyda, 55, of Bolingbrook, were charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and Lyda was additionally charged with retail theft in connection with the Jan. 11 incident.

Woodridge police say they were called to the Target at 2333 63rd St. at approximately 3:23 p.m. after the store's loss prevention personnel called to report that they allegedly "observed the theft of merchandise" from the store.

Lyda and Jackson were subsequently taken into custody and transported to DuPage County Jail.

Jackson and Lyda are both set to appear in court on Feb. 4.
