Park District Superintendent of Finance Awarded Employee of the Year

Chris Webber was recognized at the Village of Woodridge's Community Recognition ceremony on December 5.

Chris Webber, Superintendent of Finance, Personnel and IT at the Woodridge Park District, was recently awarded the 2023 Employee of the Year as part of the Village’s Community Recognition Program. He joined the District in 2017 as the new Superintendent of Finance, Personnel and IT to manage and audit the District’s net assets of $24 million, an annual budget of $19 million, annual debt service of $1.5 million, $9.1 million in annual accounts payable, $3.2 million in annual payroll for 460+ employees and oversees the District’s human resources department and IT services.

Each year, Chris and his team attain the coveted Government Finance Officers Association’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting which is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Additionally, Chris’ contributions and commitment to financial excellence is why the District’s debt service rating by S&P Global is “AA” which reflects the District’s very strong financial position.

Chris is an active employee who volunteers his time beyond the normal work day assisting at District special events and community civic organizations such as the previous Woodridge Rotary Mini Triathlons, Almost Home for Kids, West Suburban Community Pantry, and Cal’s Angels. Chris’ achievements to date, commitment to high standards, professionalism to the field, dedication to the District and Woodridge community, and his outgoing personality to improve camaraderie within the workplace are reasons why Chris is the Employee of the Year!
