Photography Club Embraces Cutting Edge & Century Old Techniques: Exhibit

Digital Photography, Woodridge Library Art Gallery, Photography Techniques, IPhone Art Photography, "Red Flower," by Larry Leonard

Throughout February the Woodridge Public Library is featuring an art exhibit from Image Werks, an innovative photography club that is interested in pushing the boundaries of photography by embracing both cutting edge and century old techniques.

Image Werks was formed to provide like-minded photographers a forum to explore imaging outside of the traditional scope of established camera clubs. Members retain the freedom to develop their individual style based on personal vision. Club members believe that by providing each other mutual encouragement rather than competition they foster experimentation, an exchange of ideas and the sharing of artistic experiences. Some members have a lifelong list of achievements and awards and all members strive to push the boundaries of their endeavors.

The Woodridge Library exhibit features new images developed using modern technology as well as modern images created with 100 year-old methods. The photographs may have been shot on an iPhone, printed using ink jet technology or might demonstrate a"pin-hole" or camera obscura technique.

The Woodridge Public Library’s Art Gallery is located in the library’s lobby at 3 Plaza Drive in Woodridge IL and is open during regular library hours.
