Induction of Officers and Presentation of Scholarship Winners for 2015 Highlight June 30 Woodridge Rotary Meeting

At the annual dinner and induction of officers for the Woodridge Rotary Club on June 30, the two 2015 “Service Above Self Scholarship” winners were introduced to the club and received their $2000 scholarship checks.
Alyssa Spikes attended Downers Grove North High, and Annie Rock attended Downers Grove South High. Both Woodridge residents, they were recognized for their outstanding contributions in going above and beyond in their efforts and commitment to provide service to others in our own and the larger community. These scholarships are given annually to recognize the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”
Officers were inducted for the next fiscal year. Mr. Lee Robertson is the new president of the club. He replaces outgoing president Katy Rush. Other officers inducted were President-Elect for 2016 Robert Mocek, Secretary John Kozlowski, Treasurer Thomas Manno, and Finance Director Debbie Mascitti. At the dinner event, the past year’s charitable donations, all a result of proceeds from the club’s annual August mini triathlon, were listed. Given special mention this year was the club’s 25th anniversary of working with the Woodridge Park District on scholarships to help those in need participate in park district activities.
