Send us your shelfie! Woodridge Public Library Celebrates NLW April 12-18

Woodridge Public Library Celebrates National Library Week (April 12-18, 2015) with an all-call for shelfies

Woodridge Public Library is celebrating National Library Week (April 12-18, 2015) by asking the Woodridge community to display their favorite bookshelves. The public is asked to take a shelfie and share it with the library.

What is a shelfie? A shelfie is a photo featuring a bookshelf that represents someone’s favorite books or authors. Shelfies can be done creatively, featuring the books’ owner or highlighting a favorite subject.

Woodridge Public Library will accept shelfies posted to Facebook, Tweeted to @WoodridgePL, dropped into Google+ with the tag Woodridge Public Library, or sent to askus@woodridgelibrary.org. Throughout National Library Week Woodridge Public Library will be exhibiting community shelfies on its website woodridgelibrary.org and in the library.

An online photo album of Woodridge community shelfies with submitters’ names and shelfie descriptions is available through the library’s online photo account in Flickr. The Woodridge Shelfies photo album will remain online beyond National Library Week and the library will continue to accept shelfies in the future. Community members who wish to take a shelfie at the Woodridge Library are encouraged to do so, and library staff members will help take patron shelfies throughout National Library Week.

Visit woodridgelibrary.org the week of April 12-18 to see the bookshelves of Woodridge!
