Snow, More Bitter Cold Could Be On the Way: Weather Service

Wind chill values could dip to -20 to -30 by Sunday night.

While a dusting of snow was in Friday’s forecast, the weekend will likely more of the white stuff — not to mention continued cold temperatures.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for counties including Will, Kendall, Grundy, duPage, Cook and Lake.

Accumulating snow is likely through Saturday afternoon, mainly along and south of I-88, the NWS said.

Bitterly cold wind chill values of 20 to 30 below zero are possible across the area Sunday night and into Monday morning.

This Afternoon: A 50 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 22. South wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Tonight: A 50 percent chance of snow, mainly after 7pm. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 22. South southwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Saturday: Snow likely, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 31. Light and variable wind becoming north northwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 10. Wind chill values as low as -1. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 14. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around -10.
Monday: Sunny and cold, with a high near 9.
Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 3.
Tuesday: A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28.
Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 10.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 19.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 5.
Thursday: A slight chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 16.
