Last week 3rd-graders at St. Scholastica School were each given their own paperback dictionaries. This project is a long-standing tradition within Rotary clubs. The purpose is to give a book to each child who might not otherwise have one.
Students were presented with the books by Roisin Daly, Rotary Club member, who talked about how to use the books as well as about the Service About Self Motto that Rotary has. Students were delighted to have Mayor Gina Cunningham come to their classroom as well. They were surprised to find out she attended St. Scholastica when she was a child in Woodridge. Mayor Cunningham is also a Rotary member.
