Mollie's War
Veteran's Day is a time to remember all those who've sacrificed for the good of the United States through their service during times of war. During WWII women were called upon to join the Women's Army Corps (WAC), supporting the U.S. Army before the integration of women into the traditional branches of the U.S. military.
Hear and celebrate the story of these brave women and the heroic men they served with on Wednesday, November 9 at 7 p.m. at the Woodridge Public Library. Through excerpts from hundreds of wartime letters, media clips and WWII period music, the daughter of WAC Mollie Schaeffer will transport you to a time when this country's greatest generation gave their all to protect our nation's freedom. Cyndee Schaeffer along with her mother Mollie recorded this historically significant service in their book: Mollie's War.
