With the snowfall forecasted for this winter, the Village is sharing the following snow tips and reminders so that residents can prepared.

Remember that on street parking is prohibited between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. or anytime after 2” of snowfall – this is important so snow plows have the room they need to maneuver while clearing the streets. Snow should never be blown or shoveled into the street, as this will cause ice patches that are hazardous to drivers and can damage snowplows. Always snow blow or shovel snow onto the lawn or parkway.

Keep trash and recycling bins behind the curbline to prevent them from ending up in the street. Residents who are physically able to are asked to clear a path to fire hydrants from the street along with clearing a three foot perimeter around the hydrant so firefighters can access it quickly and easily in an emergency. Also, residents are also asked to keep sidewalks around your residence free of snow and ice.
