Woman Sues Woodridge Target Over Claims She Slipped On Slimy Floor

Lawsuit says plaintiff injured herself slipping on liquid substance.

A woman is suing a big box store over claims that she was injured after slipping on a slimy substance inside the store.

Jillian Feltz filed a lawsuit on Oct. 7 in DuPage County Circuit Court against Target Corporation, doing business as “Target Store 866.”

Feltz maintains that she was shopping on June 23, 2013 at the Target store at 2333 W. 63rd St. in Woodridge, when she stepped on some liquid on the floor caused her to fall.

The lawsuit contends that Target was negligent by failing to inspect the flooring that could pose a slipping hazard and by not cordoning off the area with the slippery substance. Target was also negligent by not installing non-slip flooring.

The plaintiff claims that she has accumulated expenses from her medical care. She is asking for damages in excess of $50,000, plus the cost of the lawsuit.
