Woodridge 68 Appoints New Director of Special Education

Anne Bowers will join Woodridge School District 68 as the new Director of Special Education on July 1, 2015

At the regular meeting held on May 18, 2015 the Woodridge School District 68 Board of Education unanimously appointed Anne Bowers as the new Director of Special Education, effective July 1, 2015. Ms. Bowers will take over for retiring Director Nancy Ericksen, who will continue with the district as Associate Director of Special Education until her retirement at the end of the 2015-16 school year.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Woodridge 68!” said Ms. Bowers. “The district has a strong reputation of being innovative and student-centered, and I am looking forward to working with the strong leadership team in order to continue to advance learning for all students.”

Anne joins Woodridge 68 with 13 years of experience in special education and comes to the district from Wilmette Public Schools District 39, where she has gained valuable experience as the Assistant Director of Student and Special Services for the past 6 years. She began her career as a Learning Behavior Specialist for five years at both the elementary and middle school levels, and then as a Student Services Coordinator. She also brings her dedication to continuous improvement and passion for high-quality instruction in order to maximize the potential of each student.

Ms. Bowers is a current Doctor of Education candidate at University of Illinois, holds a Master of Science in Education from Northwestern University, and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Education from University of Wisconsin.
