Woodridge 68 Considering Full-Day Kindergarten

The school district seeks community input as part of decision-making process

After input by parents and staff, research by administration, and discussion by the Board of Education, Woodridge School District 68 is considering implementing full-day kindergarten at its elementary schools beginning in the 2017-18 school year. Kindergarten is often a child’s introduction to education, making it a critical foundation for success in school in first grade and beyond.

Detailed information about what full-day kindergarten would look like and means for Woodridge 68 is posted on the district website. Woodridge 68 invites all district residents to share their thoughts and opinions in a brief online survey that will remain open through March 10, 2016.

The survey can also be accessed from the district website. The results of the survey will be discussed at the March 21, 2016 Board of Education meeting as a tool in the decision-making process, and a decision will be made at the School Board meeting held on April 18, 2016.
