Woodridge Cop Takes Polar Plunge Once An Hour For 24 Hours

Woodridge Police officer Dan McIntyre is in the midst of jumping into the icy lake 24 consecutive times to benefit Special Olympics.

WOODRIDGE, IL — One Woodridge cop is braving the cold waters of Lake Michigan to raise funds for Illinois Special Olympics. Officer Dan McIntyre started his chilling task Friday afternoon and will jump into the icy lake once every hour for 24 hours as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge.

Before the the event, McIntyre and his teammates raised nearly $9,000 dollars to help athletes realize their dreams of taking part in the Illinois Special Olympics. Even though the event has begun, you can still donate to Dan's cause to help Special Olympians throughout Illinois.
