Woodridge Cops Dole Out 61 Tickets During Holiday Crackdown

Woodridge police increased enforcement, especially during late-night hours, between Dec. 17 and Jan. 3.

WOODRIDGE, IL — The Woodridge Police Department issued 61 citations during its recent winter holiday crackdown.

Police increased patrols from Dec. 17 through Jan. 3 to target seatbelt violations and distracted and impaired driving. Extra emphasis was given to patrols during late-night hours, a news release said.

The following citations were by Woodridge police during the crackdown:

  • Nine seatbelt tickets
  • Four distracted driving citations
  • 19 other citations for miscellaneous violations

The department's increased enforcement was part of a statewide initiative funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
