Woodridge Cops Issue 23 Tickets During Holiday Crackdown
Woodridge police issued nearly two dozen speeding tickets and other citations amid increased patrols for St. Patrick's Day.
WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge police issued 23 tickets during a recent crackdown for the St. Patrick's Day holiday.
Police put in an additional 15 hours of patrols during the initiative, which was conducted from March 11 through March 18. The tickets issued included 10 citations for speeding. One person was taken into custody for an arrest warrant.
“We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason – to save lives,” Woodridge Deputy Police Chief Tom Stefanson sad in a news release.

Stefanson added, “Encouraging sober driving and seatbelt use improves safety for all.”
The initiative, which was part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns, was funded in part by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
